Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee received and worked with the delegation of Cambodia's National Committee for Counter Trafficking
On August 28, the delegation of Cambodia's National Committee for Counter Trafficking (NCCT), led by Ms. Chou Bun Eng, Cambodian Interior Ministry Secretary of State and NCCT permanent vice-chair, paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Tra Vinh province. Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Le Van Han, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Kim Ngoc Thai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of provincial departments and branches.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Van Dau expressed his delight at the excellent development of the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia. According to him, the two countries are increasingly closely linked and enhance mutual trust. Regarding the socio-economic development situation of Tra Vinh province in 2021 and the first months of 2022, he reported that the province's policy was to fight the epidemic and develop the economy when the Covid-19 epidemic occurred one year ago. Tra Vinh has established seven field hospitals throughout the province to treat patients, and over 65,000 F0 have been cured. In addition, the province also helped over 60,000 people return to their localities, stabilized the political security, social order, and safety, preserved the cultural identity of the ethnic groups, and promoted the effectiveness of policies toward ethnic minorities.

At the meeting, Ms. Chou Bun Eng expressed her joy and excitement at the warm welcome of the leader of Tra Vinh province. Through this business trip, the delegation wishes not only to learn about Tra Vinh's development planning method but also to get information about the relationship with stakeholders and departments in human trafficking prevention and combat. She also added: In the first six months of this year, Cambodian authorities investigated and dismantled 74 cases of human trafficking and sex business, arrested and brought to court 83 suspects, of which 12 suspects were foreigners; At the same time, 156 victims were rescued, including 105 women and 60 people under 15 years old.
