Dai An handicraft village
Dai An handicraft village at Dai An commune, Tra Cu district was recognized under Decision No. 2030/QĐ-UBND dated on December 31, 2007 of Tra Vinh province People’s Committee.
Dai An commune is about 8Km far from Tra Cu district center with natural area of 1.236,16 ha suitable for development of bamboo.
Dai An knitting and handicraft village was founded for many years, so local people are very skillful. The profuse bamboo resource makes favorable condition for the village. Activity of the village developed strongly at Giong Dinh, Giong Lon, Cay Da, Xa Lon, Tra Kha, Me Rach B, Me Rach B, Me Rach E…, making a great amount of products like bed, table, chair, pot… Especially, those products are made with small size and delicate. Those products are used as decorated items, souvenir or gift and attract many international tourists. We can find those products displayed at showrooms in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the whole nation.
